DYNATRON Ultra Sonic Sensor

Description

DYNATRON Ultra Sonic Sensor fitted to the top of the "A" pillar or in vans the "B" pillar for detection of movement in a confined space. See also Microwave and PIR sensors for alternative movement sensors.


 

Operation  
Active Ultrasonic Protection Field:

Sensor uses a 40KHz sound wave to measure echoes from the inside of the vehicle. Any change in the echo is determined to be an intruder.
Adjustable sensitivity:

Sensor allows installer to adjust sensitivity to provide compatibility within different size vehicles.
Temperature compensative circuitry:

Ensures sensitivity does not change as ambient temperature rises or falls.
Plug and play for service:

Designed to allow easy access for service technicians. Plugs and sockets are located inside the main control module to protect against access by thieves.
Compatability  
Compatible with: DYNATRON alarm control systems only
Visual Output  
Trigger status indicator: LED indicator shows when sensor is triggered.
Specifications  
Low current draw: 11.5mA when idle, 26.7mA when triggered for 2 seconds.
Wide Operating voltage: Operating voltage +9VDC to +15VDC.
Operating temperature: -20 degrees to +85 degrees for equipment designed to be installed within vehicle cabin. 
Polarity protection: The system circuitry is design to protect itself against accidental battery polarity reversal. This can happen when replacing the vehicle battery.
Trigger output rating: Each output of the sensor can sink 300mA, suitable for energising a relay coil when necessary.
Trigger output is back EMF protected:   Clamping diode protects the output driver transistor(s) to stop damage from the super high voltages that occur when a relay coil is released. 
Limitations:

Ultrasonics are not suitable for convertable vehicles as they will be triggered by air movement. Suggested alternative would be a microwave sensor.
Power Consumption:

Each additional sensor added to a system will increase it's over-all power consumption from the car battery. See the list of each sensor's power consumption.
